    Description:

    The Diversified Occupations program a one-year program offered to seniors only. The course is designed to combine classroom instruction with on-the-job training in a career area of the student’s choice.  Students will obtain skills in an occupational area that is not taught in high school and will prepare students for new and futuristic careers.  This program integrates classroom studies in employability skills and consumer skills with planned, supervised, and practical work experience in a business setting.  Students will develop personal initiative, learn to work with others, and recognize the importance of an appropriate attitude and behavior for the occupation. 

     

    Program Certifications:

    Students in the program will have the opportunity to earn the OSHA 10 Certification and a Customer Service Certification from the National Retail Federation.  Upon program completion, students will take the NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) Assessment, which includes a written test.

     

    Post-Secondary Opportunities:

    All students who complete the program have the opportunity to gain college credits with a community college through dual enrollment.

     

    Career and Technical Student Organizations  (CTSO):

    Delaware Valley FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is an extra-curricular club where students may explore business opportunities.  There are over 70 competitive events available for students that include performance, production, individual and team, in addition to non-competitive roles.  For more information see www.pafbla.org or www.fbla.org.
    CTE students also have the opportunity to participate in Skills USA, FCCLA, and HOSA clubs. Students are advised to see their respective CTE instructor for more information on those clubs.

    CTE Students are also encouraged to participate in Skills USA through their CTE Instructor.
