Teresa Ficken Sachs

Teresa Ficken Sachs  Teresa Ficken Sachs was a member of the Delaware Valley High School Class of 1975.  Active in her class, she was a four year member of the high school band.  She was chosen to be part of the Wayne County Band in her junior and senior years.  Terry was also a member of the varsity cheerleading team in her junior and senior years.  She was a member of the National Honor Society from her sophomore through senior years.

 Following her high school graduation, Teresa attended the University of Connecticut where she graduated cum laude in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy.  She continued her education at Villanova University School of Law where she graduated cum laude in 1984. 

Teresa entered law practice in 1984 and went on to work with multiple prestigious firms.  In 2015, she joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman and Goggin where she currently serves as Partner, Vice-Chair, Appelate Advocacy, and Post-Trial Practice Group.  She has handled over one hundred appeals in the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts, the Ohio Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  She has participated in an appeal in the Supreme Court for the Virgin Islands and the United States Supreme Court has granted certiorari in a case to be heard in its October 2018 term.

Teresa has been awarded many professional honors.  From 2006-2018 she has been named a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by American Lawyer Media and Philadelphia Magazine.  In 2017 she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, as well as one of the Philadelphia Business Journals “Women of Distinction.  In 2018 Teresa was named to the list of “Best Lawyers in Pennsylvania.”

Teresa is a member of numerous professional organizations.  She is a frequent seminar lecturer and has authored a book chapter for the book History of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, published in 2017.  Her service to the community includes serving on the Board of the Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club and Twin Lakes Conservancy, Inc.
