Dr. Brian Blaum, Superintendent
Dr. Blaum has served Delaware Valley previously as the Director of Secondary Education, who oversees all aspects of both middle schools, the high school and the Career and Technical Education (CTE) center. Athletics, DV-ACE, and the alternative program (AEDY) also fall under his purview. Brian began his career at DV as a teacher in 2004 and moved into administration in 2011. He will be working with the school board on governance and planning. He will also be working with a five-member cabinet and two district-level Special Education supervisors on school district administration. They are as follows:

Dr. Nicole Cosentino, Assistant to the Superintendent for Academic Leadership and Culture
Nicole Cosentino joined the Delaware Valley High School staff in 2001 and worked as a Special Education teacher for the first few years of her career. After 4 years, she moved into the Social Studies Department where she has taught since 2005. Nicole began her administrative career in 2012 where she served as the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs for 9 years and as the Delaware Valley High School Principal for 3 years before assuming the role of the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Leadership and Culture. Nicole will oversee the professional development program for our staff, guide our New Teacher Orientation and Induction Process. Nicole will guide our school leadership and engage with our teachers with regards to standardized assessment data, serve as the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) and oversee development of curriculum grades K-12.

Dr. Jayson Pope, Assistant to the Superintendent for Federal Programs and Community Engagement
Jayson Pope joined the Delaware Valley School District in 2003 and worked as a Social Studies teacher for the first 11 years of his career. He began his administrative career in 2014, serving as a Delaware Valley High School Assistant Principal for seven years before transitioning into a central office administrative role as Supervisor of Academic Services, a position he has held for the last two years. As Assistant to the Superintendent for Federal Programs and Community Engagement, Jayson is responsible for preparing and maintaining all federal programs as well as leading the development and implementation of the district’s comprehensive and strategic plans. Jayson also oversees the district’s Cyber Academy, homeless/foster programs, and child accounting procedures. In addition, he works closely with numerous organizations and agencies in order to develop and promote community partnerships.

Mr. William Hessling, Business Administrator
Bill Hessling has served as the chief financial officer for more than 33 years. He oversees the business office operations and staff, including the key areas of budget, audit, payroll, finance and employee benefits. He also serves as the board secretary. During his tenure, we have completed more than $100 million in capital projects, including three new schools – DDMS, DDPS,DVES and the over $10 million renovation of the Career and Technical Education Center.

Mr. Marvin Eversdyke, Director of Support Services
Marvin Eversdyke wears many hats. He oversees all aspects of facilities management including the maintenance, custodial and grounds staff. He is also our point person on all capital projects. He supervises our district fleet of vehicles and buses and is the liaison to our bus contractor, Rohrer Bus. His office also handles new student registration. Marvin has been in this role since 2005.

Mr. Chris Lordi, Director of Human Resources
Chris Lordi oversees all personnel issues including attendance, evaluation, certification and background clearances. He also oversees all aspects of safety and security. This includes our school police force, safety plans and drills, and our workplace safety team. In addition, he oversees the DV Foundation. Chris joined our administrative team in 2005 and holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Scranton and a Master of Professional Studies degree, Human Resources and Employment Relations, from the Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Diana Bixby, Director of Mental Health and Student Support Services
Diana Bixby oversees student supports throughout the district. This includes mental health supports and interventions, the district’s AEDY program, 504 compliance, Gifted Education compliance, wellness initiatives, and nursing services. Diana is member of various interagency teams. She collaborates with multiple community agencies to assist our students and families in getting the supports they need to overcome obstacles to learning. Diana started her career as a special education teacher in 1998 and joined the district in 2005 having served as a building administrator and Supervisor of Secondary Special Education.

Mrs. Cheryl Nielsen, Supervisor of Elementary Special Education
Cheryl Nielsen oversees the coordination and development of Special Education programs for the district. She writes reports related to Special Education as well as coordinates the transition for students coming from early intervention. Cheryl began her teaching career in 2003 and joined our team in 2015 as a special education teacher. She moved into administration in 2019. She is a graduate of Delaware Valley.

Mrs. Ashley Turs, Supervisor of Secondary Special Education
Ashley Turs joined the Delaware Valley High School staff in 2005 as a special education teacher. Throughout her teaching career, she worked across multiple buildings and programs, meeting the diverse needs of students in various educational programs. She began her administrative career in 2022, where she served as the Assistant Principal for Special Education. In her role as Supervisor of Secondary Special Education, Ashley will oversee special education services across the secondary school buildings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Ms. Joy Sweller, Supervisor of Academic Services
Joy Sweller joined the Delaware Valley School District in 1998. She worked as a reading specialist, first grade teacher and building principal before moving into her current position. Joy is responsible for overseeing the Gifted Education, Title I, and English Language Development programs. She also assists in supporting professional development programs for teachers, developing and implementing curriculum K-12, and aggregating and interpreting data to support effective classroom instruction. Joy also serves as the District Assessment Coordinator.
