The National Honor Society was established in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.  It is considered to be the premier organization for recognizing outstanding high school students.  The National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll for students with high grades.  In addition to scholarship, members have demonstrated success in the areas of leadership, service and character.  Members are recognized not only for their past achievements in these areas, but are challenged to further develop themselves through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The National Honor Society has enjoyed a long and impressive history at Delaware Valley High School.  Any students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 and are in their junior or senior year are invited to apply for membership.  After submitting the application, an interview is conducted with the faculty council.  Upon successful completion of the application process, students become members during the induction ceremony.
