FID (Flexible Instruction Day)
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Delaware Valley School District has been approved to use Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs) during the 2025-2026 school year. These days will be used if we cancel school due to emergencies or inclement weather in conjunction with our six traditional snow days. The district may use up to five FIDs this year.
On an FID, students will complete assigned learning activities and participate in live lessons with their teachers from home. Student attendance will be recorded through Schoology and verified by completion of assignments and participation in live lessons. All school trips and activities scheduled during the FID will be canceled. Students will not report to the school buildings. Teachers and staff will be available to caregivers throughout the day via email.
Specific student expectations for an FID follow.
● Students will access the Zoom link and attendance question for class using Schoology.
● Students will answer the attendance question upon logging in.
● Students will use the Zoom link posted in Schoology under updates to log in to class.
● Students will have their camera on during synchronous instruction with their teacher.
● Students will communicate technology issues as soon as possible.
● Students will complete all assignments by the due date.
Families will be informed of an FID through the district’s notification system, including phone calls, text messages, postings on the district website, social media accounts, and announcements through local media outlets.
We appreciate your support in helping your child stay engaged in learning during these days. If you have any questions regarding an FID, please reach out directly to the main office.
