Fourth grade’s theme is Art Around the World.In each lesson, the students learn about a type of traditional art or art style from a particular culture. The students will also learn about the geographical area of that culture, the traditional clothes, customs, language, and way of life. Students will discover various art styles from all 7 continents, also from their own state of Pennsylvania. When possible, guest speakers will come in to speak about particular cultures.
The first two lessons will be based purely on the Principles and Elements of Design, which universally connects all artists no matter where they are in the world.
