Here
are some reading activities to do with your childs
weekly story:
1.
Echo Reading: You read one line, and your child
reads the same line after you. You can add to the
number of sentences you read at one time as your childs
reading improves.
2.
Choral Reading: Read the same words together. Choral
reading should be at a normal reading pace so your child
can make progress as you practice together.
3.
Partner Reading: Take turns reading. Begin
with one sentence and have your child read the next
sentence.
4.
Repeated Reading: Read the same book or story more
than once in the same week.

"Read
to your child is a phrase we often tell parents,
however, many of us dont have as much time as we wish
we had to do it.
Time
is such an important issue for all of us. Everyone
is busy. So look at your schedule and try to find
twenty minutes when you can read with your child everyday.
You can ask your child to help you finish doing something
so you will have time to spend with him/her later. Try
this: plan an easier meal to cook and clean up to save
some time, limit
the amount of time spent watching the TV or talking on the
telephone.
