 Stretch your neck out and read.

o time to read a novel? Read a newspaper or magazine with your child. Newspapers and magazines offer short articles that take little time to read. You usually start and finish the article in one sitting.  Have a little extra time?

ach day, clip an article from the newspaper/magazine, that you find interesting. Underline one or more of the important ideas in the article. Write down how you feel about the ideas and write down an idea of your own    about the subject. Keep your clippings and comments together in a folder or  envelope. You can start an Idea Scrapbook listing things you enjoy reading   and writing about.

hildren love animal stories! Try writing a story about an animal and include real facts among the fiction. Share the story with a relative or neighbor.  Have fun with it!
