The 2005-2006 NHS Induction will be on Sunday, January 8, 2006

Membership in NHS at DV: Each spring any sophomore, junior, or senior, who has a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better is considered an eligible candidate. The names of candidates are submitted to the entire faculty who must rate each student with whom they are sufficiently acquainted in the areas of leadership and character. Next, the co-curricular activities of the candidates are checked to make sure that they are contributing participants in school or community activities. All of the above information is then submitted to a faculty council consisting of five teachers who are responsible for making the final decision concerning membership. Once selected, all students must maintain the standards by which they were chosen in order to remain a member.

Purpose/Goals: The aim of the society is to recognize and promote the four qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

Major Activities: Each chapter must participate in at least two service activities in the school or in the community. In the past, the Delaware Valley Chapter has assisted at bloodmobiles, hearing screenings, Senior Citizen Dinners, and Easter egg parties for children attending the Center for Developmental Disabilities program, and various other activities.
