Advisor: Frau Shannon

Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Well, even if you don’t, Delaware Valley High School’s German Club still welcomes you with open arms. Herr Robert Wyckoff and Frau Dawn Shannon, the high school’s two German teachers, head the club.

“Herr and I get along very well,” Frau Shannon said. “We have a lot of the same ideas when it comes to teaching German which allows us to have a consistent approach in level one through Advanced Placement.”

When asked why the club was started, Frau Shannon said that the goal was to enhance the German Department as well as the interest at Delaware Valley. In addition, the club allows students to have fun and learn at the same time. Activities include games, movies, a Karneval in the spring, German Club BBQ, and a Christmas party. Currently, the club’s enrollment is approximately 15 to 20 students, with increasing interest. The club is made up of middle and highschool students, levels 1-AP.

The German Club is funded by the DVMS PTA & fundraising.

The club meets on the first Thursdays of the month in Room A17, see Frau Shannon for dates. If speaking, reading, and cooking German are your interests, join the German Club.
