Meetings
Wednesdays in Room D-6/D-1 from 2:50 to 4:20
Activities
- Bulletin Board
- Displays statistical data on the harmful effects
of drug abuse.
- Promotes living a drug abuse free life.
- Themes change monthly/bimonthly
- District Sponsored Health Fair
- Students will conduct presentations for parents and children
encouraging them to make good choices and act proactively.
- Tri-State Chamber of Commerce 10K Race for the Cure
- Volunteer to direct runners and man a water station
- Red Ribbon
Week
- Promote the week long celebration of DEA agent, Niki Cameron’s
dedication to a drug
abuse free society.
- Purchase/Sort/Distribute promotional
items to the entire
school district.
- Provide statistical data
and proactive advice
via daily announcements.
- Presentations
- Students research marijuana, heroin, ecstasy, and alcohol.
- Students
then take their data and create an educational and interactive
presentation which
is presented to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders district
wide. DVES will be on October 23rd, 2006.
- White-Out Day
- Seniors and SASA members volunteer to represent those
who have died
due to an accident that involved someone drinking and driving.
- The
students dress in black and have their faces
painted white on the day before prom.
- Each student has a story
hanging down their back describing the situation
that caused their death.
- Each
student distributes
red ribbons
to the
people that
would be
affected by
their death.
- Each student
has a tombstone
hanging in
the school
with the
story of
their death
on it.
- Any other suggested activity promoting making positive
choices.
