Honors Pre-Algebra 7This course is a rigorous introduction to the mathematical concepts and logical thinking skills necessary for success in the accelerated college prep mathematics program. Topics include expressions, equations, inequalities, properties of real numbers, geometric properties, systems of measures, and probability and statistics. An acceptable level of completion is recommended for the Honors Algebra I course.
Transition MathematicsTransition math is a course taught to seventh grade students who have shown above-average ability in mathematics. Transition math is a pre-algebra based course which when successfully completed will enable students to enter Algebra I. Students who enter Transition Math should have already completed course 2.
Course 2 - Mathematics 7This course is a continuation of Course 1, Mathematics 6. It is the second in a group of three courses designed for the on-grade-level middle school student. The course covers a variety of mathematical topics. It also shows how math fits naturally into other subject areas.
Honors Algebra 8An academically challenging course which provides a strong foundation in algebraic operations. These algebraic operations will be applied to real life situations and geometric interpretations of some skills will be given. Topics include linear and quadratic equations, systems of equations, inequalities, and properties of rational and irrational numbers. Students will be required to complete this course at an acceptable level of achievement before entering the Honors Geometry course.
Algebra 8This course is designed to expose students to the skills necessary to solve basic algebraic operations. These algebraic operations will be applied to real life situations and geometric interpretations of some skills will be given. Topics include variables, linear and quadratic equations, systems of equations, and properties of real numbers. Students will be required to complete this course at an acceptable level of achievement before entering the geometry course.
Pre-Algebra 8This is an introduction to the mathematical concepts and analytical reasoning skills necessary for success in a college preparatory mathematics program. Topics include linear equations and inequalities, laws of exponents, geometric concepts, properties of real numbers, probability and statistics, and polynomials.
Math 8This course is intended to provide students with an opportunity to apply their arithmetic skills to a wide range of real-world problems and to build a foundation for the future study of advanced mathematics. Topics include linear equations, integers, statistics and data analysis, geometry, rational numbers, and applications with percent and proportions. An introduction to algebraic topics will also be included.
