Science Olympiad Team

Science Olympiad is a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by students. These goals are accomplished through preparation and competing in regional, state, and national tournaments. The Science Olympiad tournaments are academic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events that students prepare for during the year.

The Delaware Valley Middle School Science Olympiad Team consists of members from grades 7 and 8, and as many as 5 alternates that compete in approximately 20 different events. These events encourage learning in the major fields of science: biology, chemistry, geology, physics, problem solving, and technology. Our middle school will compete against many local middle schools in the Northeast Region. Individual medals are given out to the top three competitors in each event. Team trophies are awarded to the school teams compiling the most points during the Olympiad. These teams are eligible for state competition.
