Grade 7Seventh grade students complete two units of study: Parenting and Children, and Sewing and Clothing Care Skills. Students complete learning experiences to help prepare them to work with young children as caregivers. Learning experiences to develop basic sewing and guidelines for clothing care, repair and maintenance are completed.
Grade 8Eighth grade students complete two units of study: Nutrition and Clothing Care, Repair and Maintenance. Concepts in nutrition, food safety, sanitation, and preparation are developed using direct instruction, technology and laboratory experiences relating to everyday life Guidelines for clothing care, repair and maintenance are explored.
